5 Authors I Absolutely Adore

*all pictures in this post are mine*
*This is a scheduled post as I'm currently off in the wild, scarfing down copious amounts of food, and trying to avoid getting my picture taken on my family road-trip. I apologize in advance if there's any typos/weird sentences. My brain isn't entirely here at the moment*

One thing I don't talk about often on this blog is books. Which is ridiculous, considering how many I consume and have a fit over. So today, I thought I'd present to you a compilation of my top 5 favorite authors. :)

1.) Heather Dixon
Heather Dixon could write a pamphlet on how to properly baste a turkey, and I'd read it, rave over it, and promptly toss it in the face of anyone who so much as glanced my way.
THIS LADY CAN WRITE, OKAY.
I picked up Entwined 3 or 4 years ago at a school book fair, and I fell in love with it as soon as I started reading it. She released Illusionarium just this year, and it was flawless as well.
I've followed Heather on her blog (story-monster.blogspot.com) ever since reading Entwined. Not only is she an amazing author, but she is also an illustrator (for Disney!!), and she posts the funniest things.

2.) Shannon Messenger
Shannon is fricking amazing. Keeper of the Lost Cities is one of the best middle-grade book series out there, and it's so complex that my typically YA-prone self just can't resist it.
Shannon herself is such a sweet person, and like Heather, she also runs an amazing blog. I'm currently dying waiting for Neverseen to come out.
November 3rd can't get here fast enough.

3.) Soman Chainani
Soman is a bloody incredible author, alright?! His characters are so life-like, and complex, & THE PLOT TWISTS IN HIS BOOKS ARE SO WELL DONE. Like with Heather-- he could write something I wouldn't normally be interested in and I'd read it, cry, and flail my arms for eternity.

4.) Tony DiTerlizzi
Tony Diterlizzi has been an author I've known of for a while; he co-wrote/created the Spiderwick Chronicles with Holly Black, and I've loved those books since I was young. His WondLa work is incredible, and the books are filled with his own illustrations, which are simply gorgeous. His imagination seems to be infinite, and all the things that he comes up with never fail to surprise.

5.) Cayla Kluver
THERE AREN'T EVEN WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE HEIRS OF CHRIOR AND CAYLA'S WRITING.
She created my OTP, and her stories are just-- ugh. Wonderful.
Go pick up a copy of The Queen's Choice right now. It'll make your life 1,000,000x better, I guarantee it.

And those are my top 5 favorite authors! Hopefully you enjoyed this post; I plan to post more about books, among other things in the future.

Have a lovely morning/day/evening/night. Don't forget to smile. You're wonderful.

Stay street, stay alive. |-/

  1. SOMAN CHAINANI YES.
I could go on about The School For Good And Evil for days, I just love it. The last book tied everything in so well, and the very end nearly made me cry (Lady Lesso was amazing, okay?)
I've run out of books to read, so I might get the Wondla books and Heirs of Chrior, they look really good.
