Coexistence
co·ex·ist
ˌkōəɡˈzist/
verb
(of nations or peoples) exist in mutual tolerance despite different ideologies or interests.
There are more than 7 billion people on this planet. Each one with different beliefs, goals, traditions, loves...
There are 7 billion people on this planet who believe different things.
There are people who think they know what life is all about. There are people that know they don't, but are trying to figure it out. There are people who believe in one god. There are people that believe in many. There are people living in slums and trying their best to make a living. There are people at the top of the social infrastructure, who don't have to worry about a thing in life.
There are people that clash because they believe in different things. Because they believe that their way is right, and should be the only thing to follow.
I don't know what is right or wrong. Which belief is the true one; which view is the real deal.
And here's the thing:
I don't need to.
My views on the world are not going to match up perfectly with another's. And that's okay. The world would be a boring place if we all thought alike.
But here's the thing--
If you're reading this, you're living.
You are a part of the 7 billion people on this Earth.
You matter. Your views matter.
For all we know, we get one shot at life on this planet, and that's it.
And if we've only got one life to live, I don't know why we all spend it arguing with one another about which things are to be accepted, and which ones are morally wrong and damn you to eternal suffering.
I don't understand why coexistence and tolerance of others is such a hard concept for us all to grasp.
It's pretty simple.
Smile.
Be kind.
Let people do what they want to do, if it makes them happy.
And treat others and their beliefs with respect.

Thanks for bringing the Amazingphil and Linkin Park lovers to the blog.)
Hello, yes, I was just wondering if it was alright if I stapled this to every inch of the universe?
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, thank you for this.
If you want to, of course. ^-^

I am assuming this is in response to my most recent post? I am sorry if I offended you in stating my opinion on my blog, like so many others do. It just so happens that my opinion is different then the majority on this part of the blogosphere, and believe me, I did and do not anticipate the comments I would and will get with much joy.
ReplyDeleteSorry, again, if I appeared rude. I thought I could share my opinion on a popular issue-I'll try not to be so blunt in the future. I guess I really have no place to do that in the internet world, where so many things are misinterpreted, do I?
Thanks for taking the time to read...and I don't believe I ever commentated on your recent design. It's looks great!

Not truly. More just a thing I've been meaning to get off my chest for while. I thought your post was fine; you expressed your opinion, and that's all. You weren't rude in your post, like I've seen others be, and you merely wrote about your views without truly telling others their beliefs are wrong. I commend you on that. I was more just commenting on the nature of the issue of warring beliefs as a general concept.
DeleteThank you. :)

This is beautiful. :)

Amazing. So true. *applauds next to Ellie*
ReplyDeleteWe're a bunch of little creatures on a little hunk of rock spinning around a ball of flame in a little galaxy surrounded by who-knows-how-big of a universe and we're defying practically all the odds just by existing. The least we can do is be kind to one another. xD
ReplyDeleteFantastic post, girl. Keep it up. <3

You always leave me speechless Adi. Like seriously...what does one say to such perfection?
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. <3
I love it. Wow. *joins in the appluading* A-maz-ing!

True that true that. Let's let people be, hm? Beautiful post as usual. :)
ReplyDeleteok
ReplyDeleteI love this post - especially the way you described it in the title. That word: 'coexist', is just so perfect. There's 7 billion people in this world and counting, and we are so beautifully insignificant but equals all the same. Of course our opinions matter.
