*tugs on hair*
If you'd care to know my opinion on government, the Jacksonian Era, and all manners of economy, I shall simply state it.
They are the devil. I hate them. I nearly cried over all above stated subjects.
I don't know who planned when lessons and state testing would align, but to whoever did, I sincerely hate you.
If you didn't know by now, I do all my school online. It's very nice, only takes a few hours, and provides me with more than sufficient learning. I get to be alone, and only have to deal with idiotic people when I go out to stores.
BUT.
Once a year, state testing arrives.
Yes, even us online folks do it.
*muffled sobbing*
The one time of the year where us students are expected to arrive at a building by 8 a.m., be in a room with other people, and our teachers.
*loud groan*
It's not that I'm anti-social. I swear, I'm not. It's just...
Some people irk me. I never mean to be rude, but those who are a bit slower in life, I have no time for. Particularly in school settings, where directions are being given, and ultimately, somebody isn't listening/paying attention/understanding where they even are.
Amidst stressing for state testing which is- oh, today (please rescue me), I've been also cursing at my lessons.
State testing runs from 8 till around after lunch, and then I've still got to come home and do my lessons. Of course, as fate would have it, I've got two quizzes, and a portfolio (paper) due both today, and tomorrow, both days in which testing also occurs.
Also had a unit test yesterday which I slaved studying for. I was so upset and worried, and though the test is over, the feeling is still with me.
*jazz hands*
CAN YOU TELL HOW EXCITED I AM?!
If I'm honest, the one thing I'm dreading most is wearing big bulky headphones that are required... though I don't particularly remember using them last year. Indeed, I'm shallow, and am most worried about how stupid I'll look with them on. -_-
No, honestly, I just don't want to talk to anybody else, student-wise. I'd like to just get in, do my testing, and get the bloody heck out of there. The hard part of socializing at all is that testing contains students from such a wide range of grades, that figuring out who might be close to you in age is quite hard. Not that I'd probably talk anyways. I much prefer to sulk in a corner for a while and watch others. I've always been that one to observe before speaking, and I'm always careful with who I talk to. As stated above, I have no patience for some people. xD
I'm writing this mostly to let you all know that I'm sorry for not really posting this week. I'm sure (at least, hopeful) that things will be slower next week and I'll be able to post a few times.
A post on here would be nothing without at least a picture, so take one of Gerard, who's birthday is soon.
(Now that I am excited about. I'll be full on celebrating like I did for Phil's birthday. xD)
Here's hoping testing goes well, as does school, and that I'll be back to the world of Jumbled Thoughts and fandoms soon. ;)
Have a good rest of the week everybody. ^-^
A note about the post: I mean no insult at all to anyone who may not have a tremendous time understanding directions, who may be educationally challenged or anything of the sort. I am stating it in a way of people who do not care, not those who try. I am a very kind, social person, but I pick who I am social with, and who I care to interact with. Please don't take this as being a rude, idiotic person. I am not that way, I promise. All of this was more meant to be on the funny side of things.
AHHH. Online school FTW! I just had my state testing last week, too. I still feel a little guilty right now, because, as you've described perfectly, after each test (five of them, ugh) the waiting room filled with a bunch of awkward, quiet teenagers waiting to be picked up. One of the kids though, a very nice kid, started talking to me about various games. I'm a lover of video games—so, I said I'd bring my 3DS to play with him the next day.
ReplyDeleteWell. I brought it. I saw him playing. I was just too shy to say, "Hey! Brought my game!" So now we'll probably never see each other again and I will forever facepalm at that. Sigh.
Good luck with your tests and the rest of the school year! ^^
YEEEEEES. ONLINE RULES.
DeleteThat's sums up with happened with me as well. Although I somehow wound up being surrounded by little 4th graders. Don't know what that was about. O_o
Aw, I'm sad you didn't get to play with the other guy. Maybe you'll see him next year! ^-^
Thanks Eve! <3

Yyyyyeeeesssssssss. I hate waiting and I hate freaking people that can't figure out what's going on.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I'm not there or we could be frustrated at them together.
Good luck on your tests!
Glad I'm not alone. :P
DeleteI wish you'd been there, but it was great enough just being able to rant to you via text. xD
Thanks again, Leah. <3

Oh no! *hugs* *chocolate cake* *FOB + PTX feels* I hope it gets better, dear! At least it's only two days. :)
ReplyDeleteOne thing that helps me in situations like this are numbered to-do lists. Like, "First, I'll study for my social studies test for thirty minutes. Second, I'll do a math worksheet for fifteen minutes. Third, snack break to relax for twenty minutes. Fourth......" and so on. I'm usually not that organized, but in times of stress it helps me to be.
My standardized tests always take place during the beginning of the school year (which makes no sense. What, are you going test us to see how much we forgot over the summer?), but I do them with my class. It's kind of nice because they split us into small groups of maybe ten or so to do the testing.
UGH I AREE WITH YOU INTROVERTS FOR THE WIN!! :)
Hope you fell better soon! :)
- Ellie
*accepts chocolate and feels* Thanks, Ellie, dearest!
DeleteI've never honestly made a numbered to-do list, but it sounds like a good idea. I'll keep that in mind for when my weeks get busy again. Thanks for the advice, and leaving a sweet comment. ^-^
~Adi
Oh, I hope you'll be able to get that testing out of the way soon, and I know you'll feel relieved after it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I know how you feel~I try to be charitable with people(say the obnoxious and rude kids when we take my siblings to the park), but it's hard. That's why it's always a good idea ti try to see at least one good thing in a person. (Sometimes I find that hard because I have a horrible prideness.)
Good luck!
~Kathryn
I always try to find good in people. It's a subconscious thing that I do really; even the most annoying people have a quality that I can't help but admire.
DeleteThanks for the comment, Kathryn. <3

You will do amazing or my name isn't Lydia! Good luck!
ReplyDelete~Lydia~ <3
Thanks, Lydia. ^-^

Good luck! And I'm online schooled too! I'm really dreading testing coming up really soon. Hope you do well!
ReplyDelete~Yali
Thanks, dear! Don't dread too much; you'll do great, I know it. <3

I hate standardized tests! They always annoy me. And don't feel shallow about not wanting to wear the big bulky headphones. In my school, we just started using Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish. The school didn't want to buy headphones for every person, so they bought a class set, and required us to wear hairnets while wearing the headphones so we wouldn't get lice. Let's just say I made my mom go out and buy me my own headphones so I didn't have to wear a hairnet. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your tests! You'll be fine!
~Jennifer Whyskers
They are the vain of my existence. All other parts of school I enjoy/tolerate, but testing. Ugh, just no. >-<
DeleteOh, hair nets sound horrible. I would've done the same and just used my own headphones.
Thanks for the encouragement Jennifer! <3
~Adi
sorry for your pain but...
ReplyDeleteDONT CRY...
CRAFT!!!!
you did see dan and phil's april fools day joke right?
DeleteOf course I saw it.
DeletePRO TIP.
~Adi
My mom started homeschooling me for that same reason, Adi. I just hated waiting around for the goofballs to listen up and actually give a care about their education. I never really learned anything, the whole day just seemed like it was wasted on waiting around for the other kids to stop goofing off and listen to the teacher. I guess they'll regret it when they're working at some fast food joint later in life.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear I'm not the only one who dropped out of public school for that reason. I was always so frustrated at others; group projects were always the worse. :P
DeleteI can guarantee anybody that half of one of my old classes will end up working at McDonald's. No doubt about it.
